The Rangers defender was enjoying an international redemption after his mistake cost them against the same opponent on Thursday.
Balogun opened scoring in the 29th minute just before Osimhen extended the lead few minutes to the break.
The 32-year-old centre half-committed himself to a new one-year deal with the club on Friday after the club made it clear they wanted him to remain.
The defender has been an instant hit this season, helping claim the title after arriving from Wigan last summer.
The Ibrox pair are in the squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho but will face an unusual journey for the former.
Former Charlton Athletic man Aribo admitted that he chose to join Rangers, as it was his dream to win titles with the club, despite having options to go elsewhere.
The Super Eagles face an away trip to Benin, a match they will travel to from the national side’s base by boat – before rounding off their campaign against tiny Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in the country’s most populated city, Lagos.
Balogun has established himself in the Gers’ defensive set-up since he moved to Glasgow on a short-term deal from Wigan Athletic in July.
Both players starred for the 90 minutes as Rangers went 22 points clear at the top of the Premiership.
The victory is the tenth consecutive home league win for Steven Gerrard’s men this season, did not come easy against the Hibs, who had not lost any of their last nine matches.
Centre-half Balogun was impressive at the heart of the defence as the Gers secured yet another clean sheet to underline their title aspirations.
While Balogun was on for the entire 90 minutes, Aribo was substituted in 74th minute of the tie
The tie is slated to kick off 5pm Nigeria time
Balogun, 32, has impressed at Ibrox this season and played well in Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone on Friday before being forced off due to an injury.
The Gers recorded a 14th clean sheet from 17 matches this term as Alfredo Morelos netted the only goal of the game in the victory over Lech Poznan.
Balogun was on the bench for the weekend draw with Hibs at Easter Road and has struggled with some niggly injuries since his last appearance against St. Johnstone last month.
All three were missing from the Ibrox outfit’s previous match against Hamilton, but it did not prove to be an obstacle for the 54-time Scottish champions as they saw off their opponents 2-0.
Rangers confirmed that Aribo missed the tie due to a “slight knock”.
He told the Rangers website: “MyGers is a great way for fans to feel closer than ever to the club. The scarf that comes with the adult MyGers Welcome Packs is really cool and is a nice way for supporters to show off the new crest.”
