The Minister for Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who gave the commendation on the sideline of an interactive session with Civil Society Organisations in Lagos on Monday, said the suspension of the strike was a win situation for Nigeria

In a statement issued in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Monday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, described as unfortunate and unsubstantiated the statement credited to former President Goodluck Jonathan attributing the recent successes in the war to the weapons allegedly bought by his Administration that were delivered after he had left office

He said even when some of the columnists have been critical of the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration, “we have taken away something positive from your write-ups”, adding that as opinion moulders, they have a big role to play in deepening the understanding of issues, especially as they concern governance by the citizens

“Your coming is very timely because as you know this new administration is determined to wean Nigeria from the addiction to oil. Fortunately we had already made up our mind that we are going to cure ourselves of the addiction to oil even before the price of crude oil crashed to $38 per barrel,” the Minister said while receiving some members of the CCA in Abuja on Tuesday
