Dorcas Adesokan, Nigeria’s top-seeded badminton player, has expressed delight that she was able to reach the podium at the just-concluded 4th Lagos International Badminton Classics.
Winners of the 4th Lagos International Badminton Classics will go home with more money as the prize money of the championship has been increased from $20,000 to $25,000 in this year’s competition.
No fewer than 200 badminton players from 23 countries will converge on Lagos to participate in the 4th edition of the Lagos International Badminton Classics.
The duo defeated Duarte Anjo and Sofia Setim of Portugal 20-22, 21-16 and 21-7 to claim the mixed doubles event that ended on Saturday at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
The match started off with Rajan mounting the pressure on his opponent in the first five minutes of the game as Yadav later got the needed momentum to take the pressure back to his counterpart.
