The lecture with the theme: “Rethinking and Retooling the Humanities amidst COVID-19 Challenges” was hosted by the Provost, Professor Temitope Balogun while the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola, was the Chief Host.
Prof. Labode Popoola, the Vice Chancellor, Osun State University, on Friday described the allegation of financial misappropriation against him by the Non-Academic Staff Union of the institution as a blackmail.
The university commenced its Medical and Dental Council’s programme in 2007 with full accreditation by National Universities Commission, but the programme was suspended in May 2012 due to inability of the University to meet the Medical and Dental Council’s accreditation requirements to provide a Teaching Hospital for student’s clinical training.
Agbaje said this on Friday at a programme tagged: ‘Vote Not Fight Campus Town Hall Meeting,’ held at the Osun State University in Osogbo.
Briefing newsmen over the strike action, the Vice Chancellor noted that he had met with workers several times on the issue and others and made the financial position of the University known to them, adding that non-academic unions members are not the only body affected.
