Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
The awards ceremony, which was being organised through a partnership between MTV Base and Uganda’s Ministry of Tourism, was scheduled to take place on February 20, with performance from leading African and international artists.
The National 3×3 teams on Wednesday at 1pm departed the shores of Nigeria for Kampala, Uganda aboard a Rwanda Air flight from Abuja for the 2019 FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup.
MTN said the armed men, who claimed to be security agents, kidnapped the employees on July 2, detained them in an un-gazetted area and later forced them to grant unauthorised physical access to the MTN Uganda’s Data Centre at Mutundwe.
