The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other State functionaries, including the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, Commissioner for Special duty, Bamgbose- Martins, Special Adviser, Urban Development, Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, Special Adviser, GIS and Physical Planning, Dr. Olajide Babatunde, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development as well as General Manager, LASEMA Dr. Femi Oke- Osanyintolu arrived at the scene promptly to muster help for people trapped in the collapsed building.

Speaking on Thursday through his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat at the opening of a two day zonal technical session on the Preparation of the Medium-Term National Development Plan (2021 -2025), the Governor described planning as the basis for action and provides direction for agencies of government to act in line with clearly specified and articulated goals to be achieved in all sectors of the economy.

Hamzat stated that the State’s engagement with the World Bank to obtain $200 million Intervention Fund for Agro-processing Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support roject is to leverage on the three main areas of focus – Aquaculture, Poultry and Rice. 

Performing the flag off, the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, stated that the return to the road not only marks the fulfillment of a promise made during a recent visit on June 2, 2019 to the people of the State by the Sanwo-Olu Administration, but is also designed to bring relief to commuters who daily experience hardship on the road.
