Speaking in Calabar at the Cross River State Migration Summit with the theme: Utilizing The Gains Of Migration To Advance Economic Development In Nigeria on April 22,  Ajibola Abayomi, the President of JIFORM comprising over 300 journalists across the continents argued that the existing laws in the country had failed to protect the rights to dignity of labour for Nigerians both within and outside the country.

Also, JIFORM, on the second day of the event on October 16, 2020, a Nigerian lawmaker and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Matters, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, will be honoured for her positive advocacy on migration matters alongside Pensioners’ FM, King FM and Federal Radio Corporation Nigeria, Ibadan for their commendable roles in promotion of safe and regular migration.

This was as the body appealed to the government to defer the evacuation mission beyond the August 25, 2020 deadline to accommodate fresh 435 Nigerians women trafficked and stranded in Oman and Saudi Arabia, with 190 and 235 ladies respectively, on separate lists compiled by JIFORM, Synergy Rescue Initiative (Rescue Mission), Rescue Africans In Slavery foundation and the Nigerian community in Diaspora.

Journalists International Forum For Migration, a Foundation championing regular migration and anti-human trafficking crusade, in a bid to strengthen its structure across the globe has announced appointments of Country Coordinators and other officers while a news website for the body is to be unveiled.
