The News Agency of Nigeria reports that voting commenced at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Abuja.
Gana, a former Minister of Information, said this at news briefing on Sunday after meeting leaders of South-East delegates of the SDP in Enugu.

The meeting, according to Gana, was in preparation for the party’s National Convention scheduled for August 17 in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State

The two factions met simultaneously in Abuja on Tuesday to fine-tune plans for their separate conventions
The campaign team is billed to be inaugurated at the Legacy House, the PDP presidential campaign national office at Maitama, Abuja
According to Gana: “The new model of government being suggested by the National Conference would make sure that the executive and legislative arm of government merge at a point and it would have about 70 per cent of Ministers as members of Parliament where they will be elected and give account to the people on a weekly or monthly basis
