The appellate division of the Federal Criminal Court jailed Valcke, 61, Secretary General of FIFA from 2007 to 2015.

The Swiss Federal Criminal Court said Valcke, al-Khelaifi and a third defendant, marketing executive Dinos Deris, were all in court in Bellinzona for the start of the appeal case.

A Swiss public prosecutor requested 28 months in prison with a partial suspension due to the television rights for future FIFA World Cup’s 2026 and 2030, according to Le Monde.
Both men were docked over the award of television rights for the World Cup and Confederations Cup.
The Frenchman, whose job was to ensure smooth running of FIFA, and World Cup in particular, was right-hand man to now banned FIFA President, Sepp Blatter.
Valcke’s ban was announced on Thursday by Fifa’s independent ethics committee
The Frenchman, 55, was provisionally suspended from football for his alleged involvement in a scheme to profit from the sale of World Cup tickets
FIFA said the fine was for a number of offences including “alleged violation of the general rules of conduct” and “accepting gifts and other benefits”
Hayatou made his position known on Thursday shortly after his emergence as the acting president
This followed the suspension for 90 days of both the FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, and Secretary General, Jerome Valcke

It was also learnt that another letter was written detailing corruption charges levelled against Maigari that compelled the operatives of the Department of State Service to invite him for questioning on arrival from Brazil
In the letter dated July 4, 2014 and obtained by The Eagle Online on Friday, the world’s football governing body said it was aware that court processes had been served on Maigari and the members of the Executive Board of the NFF sequel to the case filed by the Proprietor of Nembe FC, Ebiakpo Rumson Baribote, and that an injunction had been granted
