Speaking on a sub-theme of the conference, “Government Service Delivery in the Information Age: Citizens’ Expectations”, Alumona explained that the non-availability of critical infrastructure such as electricity greatly hinders majority of Nigerians from participating in the e-governance process and limits the progress of the initiative.
Jenkins Alumona, CEO Flykite, explained that GOtv Boxing Night Mini is conceived to provide more frequent opportunities for boxers as a means of ensuring that they get requisite number of fights to make them eligible for sub-regional, continental and international title bouts.
The AGM/Congress, which was scheduled to hold in July in Asaba, Delta State, was rescheduled due to circumstances beyond the Association’s control.
The programme, which ends on Friday, will hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Kwara State Stadium Complex.
Alumona, who spoke in Lagos on Thursday, said his organization decided to have Ilorin host the programme, which seeks to find young boxers good enough for the professional cadre, because boxing administrators in other parts of the country demanded that it should be taken round.
