In a special announcement posted to Joshua’s YouTube channel Emmanuel TV, the cleric called on relevant government and medical authorities to “organise those who are in isolation” and “arrange how to connect them to us on Emmanuel TV”.
The company also donated an ambulance, suction machine and other critical items needed to make an isolation centre functional to complement the efforts of the Delta State Government to increase testing for COVID-19 cases.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 215 cases were recorded from Katsina Local Government Area, 79 from Daura and the remaining 43 from other council areas.
The patients were discharged after testing negative for the virus two consecutive times.
The Federal Government has reacted to the protests at isolation centres for COVID-19 patients.
The Kaduna State Government says it has recorded 72 cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 65 Islamic education pupils (Almajirai), who were repatriated from Kano State, and two policemen.
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has sent an urgent appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari urging him to “urgently instruct the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Mr Abukabar Malami, SAN to work with appropriate ministries and agencies to identify, publish and use confiscated stolen assets as isolation centres.”
Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and PTF chairman on COVID-19, gave the assurance at the PTF daily briefing on Thursday in Abuja.
The Armed Forces of Nigeria has provided three additional isolation and treatment centres to support the Federal Government’s efforts in containing COVID-19 patients.
The Edo State Government say it has recorded two new cases of coronavirus, making a total of 11 confirmed cases in the state.
