The relaxation of the curfew was one of the outcomes of the Abia State Security Council meeting held on Monday after the curfew put in place following the escalation of tension in the state owing to the clash between the Nigerian Army and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, led by Nnamdi Kanu
The denial followed the posting of videos in which Abdülkadir Erkahraman, a Turkish citizen, who described himself as an Ambassador, declared support for Kanu and IPOB.

The group stated this in a statement issued to the press on Sunday which was signed by the president, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the group lamented that the actions of IPOB was wicked and ungodly since majority of Muslims in the eastern part of the country are usually the poor and as such, the treatment ,meted out to them was undeserving.
The IPOB members were arraigned on a 12-count charge bothering on murder, possession of dangerous weapons, arson, kidnapping, membership of IPOB and conspiracy
In a statement he personally signed, Saraki said there is a need for all Nigerians to jointly find a solution to the crisis
“Nigerians must understand that IPOB was not set up to fight for the right of anyone or group, but as a tool to destabilize the nation, divert attention from the efforts of the Buhari Administration and obliterate the laudable achievements of the Government,” the Minister told a press conference in Lagos on Sunday.

The group, under the aegis of Youths of Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers, while welcoming the launching of the military operation in the region, observed that if Kanu and his group are not urgently tamed, Nigeria might be witnessing another heavy bloodbath.
