Olusanya who disclosed this at the closing ceremony of the Programme in Lagos explained that the programme was aimed at encouraging the youths to grow into a more productive labour force as adults thereby solving to a reasonable extent the problem of unemployment as well as mitigate the possible effects of global food crisis.

While speaking with the CEO, IITA Business Incubation Platform (BIP), Mr. Frederick Schreurs, and the Director-General of Premier Agribusiness Academy (PAA), Toromade Francis, during a courtesy visit to the IITA facility in Ibadan, Oyo State, AIG Baju, who also doubles as the president, Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN), expressed delight at the commitment made by the two renowned agricultural training institutes towards ensuring the wellbeing of police officers after retirement.

Speaking during a Field Day for Rice Seed Outgrower Scheme to farmers supported by APPEALS Project in Epe and Lekki areas of Lagos, the State Project Coordinator of APPEALS, Oluranti Sagoe-Oviebo, said APPEALS Project sponsored by Lagos State Government in conjunction with the Federal Government and World Bank is supporting and building farmers’ productivity in rice value chain with technology for food security.  

Registrar / CEO, Nigeria Institute of Animal Science (NIAS), Professor Eustace Iyayi, while addressing stakeholders during a collaborative meeting held with Premier Agribusiness Academy (PAA) and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan, Oyo state said, the unavailability of quality and affordable livestock feed to farmers can be attributed to the shortfall in local production of maize and soybean in the country.

The State Acting Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, gave out the empowerment tools on Tuesday at the beginning of a three-day capacity building and training of the rice farmers on current production practices in the rice value chain.
