The Borno State Government has banned visitors from entering all Internally Displaced Persons camps for four weeks.
UNHCR said in its September Situation Report that the exercise would be conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service and other relevant authorities.
A Group of Civil Society Organisations on Monday described the present situation and circumstances of youths at the Internally Displaced Persons camps across the country as hopeless and worrisome.
He said: “The committee had already visited some major camps in Maiduguri and Yola, where we discovered they are suffering from lack of enough potable water and inadequacy of health facilities

When you see children with cases of malnutrition and you know there can be speedy recovery when the necessary drugs and nutritional items are provided with the necessary food items

Saraki said he plans to table the issue of the increase in the cases of malnutrition in the IDP camps for deliberation on the floor of the Senate.

Malam Mohammad Zanna, another returnee, said the provision of food items and rehabilitation of boreholes by the state government had cushioned the hardship of the returnees
The camps aside, there is also the issue of security for those who have returned to liberated areas of the States of Adamawa, Yobe and Borno who occasionally suffer from sporadic attacks of remnants of the Boko Haram, and Fulani herdsmen, who loot and pillage rural and isolated communities
It also said that it had dedicated an additional $2.4m to existing projects to combat malnutrition in Niger, adding that its total global contribution to the World Food Programme for 2015-2016 was US $43.3 million
The prayers were offered as governments and local NGOs battle to contain the humanitarian crisis in the North East region of the country
