The UN General Assembly on Friday elected Iceland to serve on the Geneva-based global rights body effective immediately, through to the end of 2019.
The group, in its report to the Human Rights Council in Geneva, said: “Alarming pushbacks have been progressing across regions of the globe” through “alliance of conservative political ideologies and religious fundamentalisms”.
