Sirika, at the daily briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 on Thursday in Abuja, said the airports: Calabar, Sokoto, Katsina and Kebbi, were all ready for inspection on Friday.
Sirika told newsmen after inspecting the ongoing works at the airport that the rainy season was largely responsible for the delay in the completion of the runway.
Sirika announced this during the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing on Monday in Abuja.
The Minister spoke at a webinar on Saturday as the country prepares to reopen the aviation sector.
Sirika made the disclosure at an interactive session with members of the Senate Committee on Aviation in Abuja while responding to questions on protocols put in place to stop further spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

The News Agency of Nigeria observed that the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport was undergoing necessary preparation at the time of filling this report with measures being put in place to contain the spread of the virus.
The Minister revealed this on Saturday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos when he announced some of the measures introduced for the reopening of the country’s airports closed in March following outbreak of COVID-19
