The leader of a delegation of the European Union on Niger Delta Support Programme, Kurt Cornelis, said his team was impressed with the high level of commitment of the Edo State Government to the execution of projects under the NDSP and urged other governors to emulate Obaseki.

In a speech to commemorate the anniversary of the state’s creation, Obaseki saluted the unalloyed support of Edo State people to his administration in the collective match towards the lofty and attainable heights as envisioned by the founding fathers.

Obaseki made the proposition on the occasion of the commemoration of the International Day for the Remembrance of Slave Trade and its Abolition on August 23, 2017, a day set aside by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, to memorialize the Transatlantic slave trade.

The event, tagged: “Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) Replacement Campaign,” organised by the Edo State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Catholic Relief Service, attracted international and local stakeholders in the health sector, who lauded the Obaseki-led administration for putting health care on the front burner.
