The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday said the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, lied to it that he was travelling to Germany when he went to the United Kingdom to see President President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday.

According to tweets on the Twitter handle of the two publications, the Deputy Governor will be dumping his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, for the All Progressives Congress

The meeting between Buhari and Akpabio is coming ahead of the planned defection of the two-term governor of Akwa Ibom State to the All Progressives Congress.

The confirmation was made by the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Public Prosecution, Okoi-Obono Obla, and the Presidential Liaison Officer to the National Assembly (Senate), Senator Ita Enang.

Akpabio had during the week had a meeting with Osinbajo in the Presidential Villa
