Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s programme organised by the Oodua People’s Congress in partnership with the Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Adams said celebrating the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the June 12, 1993 annulled election with a programme of this nature is symbolic.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after his arrival from Europe and United Kingdom on a 12- day visit, where he was received warmly by members of the group, Aare Adams said the group was inaugurated six years ago to unite Yoruba sons and daughters in the Diaspora for socio-economic integration, growth and networking of Nigerians abroad.
The first award was titled: “The Most Notable and Top Leader of the 21st Century,” while the second award was: “Life Fellow of the International World Learned Society.”
Aare Adams made this known in Ibadan, Oyo State during the 2018 edition of the Oke’badan Festival, held at the Cultural Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking at 2018 edition of the Leadership Training Retreat in Ibadan, Oyo State, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Aare Gani Adams, said leadership is about service to humanity.
Aare Adams, who was referring to last Thursday’s signing by Ambode of the Yoruba Promotion Bill into ‘Yoruba Language Preservation and Promotion Law’ declared: “Any country or state that forgets its language will eventually forget its culture and such a political entity will soon become extinct. I thank Governor Ambode for proving that he is, indeed, a true son of Yorubaland. For what Governor Ambode has just done, the gods of our land will continue to bless him and I am sure all our traditional rulers will also pray for him for promoting our language and culture”.
Giving reasons for the visit, Aare Adams, said as the 15th Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, it is very important for him to interact with the international world to promote the culture of the Yorubas, seek better relationship and forge a better economic tie among the top European countries in the world. He said from the history, Aare Onakakanfo is a unique and the most prestigious title in Yorubaland, created about 558 years ago, by Alaafin Ajagbo in the 15th century, to defend and protect the interest of the Yoruba race.
Speaking when he played host to leaders and members of the Lagos state chapter of the Traditional Worshippers Association of Nigeria, popularly called the Ijo Orunmila Adulawo of Nigeria.
Adams arrived the venue at about 11:15am with his wife, children, family and members of the Oodua People’s Congress, in a convoy of about 20 vehicles.
Adams, who arrived the mosque at about 1:40pm, with his wife, observed the special Jumat service with prominent Islamic scholars and faithful in the state.
Adams was on January 13, 2018 installed at a grand ceremony at Durbar Stadium in ancient Oyo town in Oyo State as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III.
The trio in their congratulatory letters described Adams’ new title as well deserving based on his antecedent and immense contributions to the development of the Yoruba race and unity of Nigeria.

Ajulo, who was at the installation of Adams on Saturday in Oyo town, Oyo State by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, stated this in a statement on Sunday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Adams was installed 19 years after the demise of the 14th Aare Ona Kakanfo, the businessman and politician Chief MKO Abiola.
They gave the charge in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria in Oyo on Saturday, at the installation of Adams as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land.
Adams will be installed on January 13, 2018 as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111, at Durbar Stadium, Oyo town, Oyo State.
Adams, who said he was in Lagos to pay homage as well as invite the Governor to his installation scheduled for January 13, alluded to the fact that Ambode since assumption of office has taken the growth of the South West region to heart.
Adeyemi, who is from Kogi State, stated this in a congratulatory letter he sent to Otunba Adams on Monday.
