Floyd died that same day after being handcuffed and pinned to the ground under the knee of a white American police, Derek Chauvin, for more than nine minutes as the Black man lay on the pavement face-down while handcuffed. Chauvin was later convicted for killing Floyd by pressing his knee onto the Black man’s neck.
