Mr Ibrahim Muhammad, the public relations officer (PRO) of the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service, confirmed the development in an interview with a correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.

Toluwani, a resident of the market area and trader, claimed that goods worth millions of naira were destroyed.
The fire started at around 8am on Monday from some shops located at the centre of the market before it spread to other parts.
