El-Rufai added that Kaduna is currently at war and such would only be considered as collateral damage, a price he would be willing to pay instead of paying ransom.

The parents spoke at a news conference in Kaduna on Friday
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, announced this in a news conference on Friday in Kaduna.
At a joint press conference addressed on Monday, the distraught parents described the government’s publicised stance not to negotiate with bandits and the threat to prosecute anyone who does as callous and unfortunate.
The students, 23 female and 16 male, were abducted from their hostel on March 11, 2021.
There were media reports that parents of the abducted students had reached out to prominent citizens to prevail on Governor Nasir El-Rufai to do his possible best to ensure that their children regain their freedom.
At the time, the incident was the latest in the series of mass abductions targeted at schools in northern Nigeria.
At least 30 of the students were reported missing after suspected bandits attacked the school in the early hours of Friday.
