Governor Makinde, who expressed excitement at the sight of many young tennis talents who will be taking part in the competition, said his government will do everything to encourage the development of talents in the game.
The State Government assured members of the public that other ongoing infrastructural development projects in the State presently at near completion stages would also be completed and commissioned in the next three months.
The State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, stated this at the six-day CSDP Management Retreat and Review Meeting, which was declared open on Wednesday at the Premier Hotel in Ibadan.
Makinde added that the Council has only God and the people of Oyo State to serve and that they should always endeavour to hold nothing against anyone.
The governor, who stated this while receiving a delegation of traditional rulers from Benin Republic, led by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, stated that he is ready to work for the enrichment of the culture and economic expansion of the ethnic group.
The governor, while speaking during a courtesy visit by members of the National Human Rights Commission, Oyo State office, held at the SSG’s Conference Room, Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan, said the state will take quick steps to actualise its plans.
The governor, who spoke through the Secretary to the State Government, Olubamiwo Adeosun, said his administration would ensure the success of the World Featherweight boxing fight scheduled to be held in Ibadan on December 27, 2020.

Governor Makinde, who was addressing students of the institution, who gathered at the Governor’s Office, Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan, led by the National Association of Nigerian Students and the Federation of Oyo State Students, also hinted that the institution may soon become multi-campus.
The governor also stated that the states of the South West are ready to combat crimes through the security agency, which was initially launched in January 2020 as a South West regional security outfit to combat crimes in collaboration with the police and other federal security agencies.
The governor, who stated this while receiving the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, during the latter’s courtesy visit to the Governor at the State’s Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, added that the state has been enjoying a cordial relationship with the Nigerian Air Force.
Governor Makinde noted that the Army has, by its recent conduct, proven its mettle as a nationalistic institution.
The governor, who stated this at the meeting held at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, where he equally met representatives of #EndSARS protesters, said every resident has a duty to ensure peace because “the opportunity to go about our businesses and activities must be protected”.
The package includes an initial deposit of N500 million for MSMEs and another N500 million as compensation to victims of police brutality and injustice.
This step, Makinde noted, will reduce the number of unemployed youths and keep them occupied and able to make ends meet.
The governor, who was accompanied by a number of aides, stopped at different spots on the Idi-Ape/Iwo Road axis, where he spoke to protesters in English and Yoruba languages.
