For established cases of energy theft, the whistle-blower will be rewarded from the reconnection penalty paid by the culprit in accordance with the fees stipulated in the NERC Order on Unauthorised Access to Electricity Supply, Meter Tampering and Bypass for non-maximum demand and maximum demand customers.

Ezeh expressed concern over the ugly situation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Awka on Sunday.

Oladele Amoda, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, said in a statement in Lagos, on Saturday that the exercise was aimed at fishing out all those engaging in energy theft through meter bypass.
