Olisa Metuh, former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, accused of diverting N400 million from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, has engaged a new lawyer, Abel Oziokor, to continue his case at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The vacation judge, Justice Babatunde Quadri, gave the order after listening to submissions by counsel to Benue Government, Emeka Etiaba (SAN).
The trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, gave the order on Wednesday in Abuja while ruling on an application by Metuh’s counsel, Emeka Etiaba (SAN), that the matter be adjourned to allow Metuh recuperate.
Counsel to the EFCC, Sylvanus Tahir, made the request in an application at the resumed trial following Metuh’s absence in court.
A statement issued by Nancy Shikaan, a counsel in the Chambers, quoted Etiaba as making the demand on Saturday in Abuja, in a letter with reference no. EESE&C/1/31/03/18 dated March 31, 2018 addressed to the minister.
Metuh had requested for records of proceedings of the court for November 4 and 5 when his applications for adjournment were made.
Dasuki made the statement at the Federal High Court, Abuja, when he appeared as a subpoenaed witness in the ongoing trial of Metuh.
The court had on October 25 directed the service of subpoena order on Dasuki and former President Goodluck Jonathan following Metuh’s application to have the duo as witnesses in the N400 million fraud case instituted against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
