The award was in recognition of his immense achievements as Group Managing Director/CEO of Zenith Bank.

With the theme “Let There Be Light”, this year marks the 16th edition of the Light-up Ceremony at the Ajose Adeogun Roundabout. The Light-Up event is an annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by the bank to herald the yuletide season through the beautification of Ajose Adeogun Street – home to Zenith Bank’s Corporate Headquarters – which has come to be recognised as an iconic place, attracting people from all walks of life who visit with their families and friends to take pictures and make videos of the wonderful spectacle, especially at night and enjoy the ambience of the street and season.

The approval and expression of delight at the dividend payment was made on Wednesday in Lagos at the bank’s AGM

According to the judges, Onyeagwu was selected for a number of reasons, including engendering a culture that promotes continued investment in social initiatives in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Onyeagwu made the call at the hybrid 4th Edition of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit 2021 on Tuesday.

A statement by the bank on Sunday in Lagos said Onyeagwu made the call in a keynote address at the Africa Investment Risk and Compliance Summit 2021.

Ebenezer Onyeagwu, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive of the bank, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.

Ebenezer Onyeagwu, the Group Managing Director of the bank, gave the advice at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry financial services group webinar on Thursday.

The ranking was published in the February 2021 edition of The Banker Magazine of the Financial Times Group in conjunction with London-based Brand Finance

According to the judges, he was selected for a plethora of reasons, key among these practices include a robust Environmental and Social Management System for screening credit facilities and continued investment in social initiatives in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and for joining 131 other banks from across the globe as a founding signatory to the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative Principles for Responsible Banking.

This is coming on the heels of the awards as the Most Valuable Banking Brand in Nigeria and the Number One Bank in Nigeria by Tier-1 Capital by The Banker won earlier in the year.

The MD made the call during a Webinar, themed: “Prospects of Non-Oil Export During and Post COVID-19,” organized by the bank on Wednesday.
