The Police Spokesperson, DSP. Abimbola Oyeyemi, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abeokuta, that police were already on the trail of the fleeing suspected kidnappers.

The suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at the Agbado divisional headquarters by the mother of the victim.
“Ogun State police command arrested one member of a kidnap syndicate while one was gunned down at Ilala Forest in Imala area of Abeokuta North Local Government Area,’’ police spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement.
Police at Imala divisional headquarters received information that six armed kidnappers were sighted in the forest. The Divisional Police Officer, CSP Bernard Ediagbonya, quickly mobilized his men, hunters, vigilantes and So Safe corps as well as Fulani youths and stormed the forest.

Two residents of the community were attacked by the hoodlums.
The Command’s spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, spoke in a press release made available to newsmen.
The Command’s Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed in a statement in Ota, Ogun, that the suspect was arrested around Iwoye Ketu in Imeko Afon Local Government Area of the state.

The bandits had abducted the tipper lorry driver at the Mologede area of Odeda Local Government Area of the state.
