Ikpeazu, the fourth democratically elected Governor of Abia State, gave this assurance when he paid a courtesy visit to the National Secretary of the PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, at his Abuja residence as part of activities to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day anniversary.

The former governor warned that any attempt to remove him or disregard the Supreme Court ruling affirming his position would be disastrous for the party.

Ikpeazu made the remark during a South East PDP stakeholders’ meeting, where he emphasised the need for unity among party leaders in the region. 

Ikpeazu stated this while speaking at the 40th Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Port Harcourt.

The former governor made the pledge on Thursday in Umuahia as defection has hit the party hard in recent days. 

His clarification comes on the heels of the repeal of the Abia State Pension Act for former governors and deputy governors.
