They also lauded the State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, for the initiative, tagged: “#MyLagosMyFootball,” which, according to them, has gone a long way to foster enthusiasm in sports among Lagosians, especially football.
This year’s Nigeria Open will be held from August 9 to 13 inside Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
The sports-loving governor also provided security, traffic control and general sanitation at the viewing centres.
The Governor, who was in Morocco to watch the final match, had pledged to reward the team for their exemplary performance in reaching the finals despite all odds.
