The Governor who cleared the air on the rumours in an interview with journalists after attending a mass at the St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Ado- Ekiti, on Thursday, explained that he neither owns a University anywhere in the world nor has intention to establish one, contrary to the rumour that he has founded the varsity with funds from the coffers of Ekiti State government

The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, said the respected monarch had remained a blessing to the country which has benefited from the centenarian’s wealth of wisdom and experience

The governor had on December 10 presented to the Assembly a budget proposal of N103.882 Billion, 51.8 per cent (N52,776,226,693.19) of which is to be spent on capital projects while 48.2 per cent (N50,106,166,739.81) of the budget is earmarked for recurrent expenditure

Speaking during an interactive session with the council workers in Gbonyin, Oye, Ikole, Emure and Ekiti East Local Government Councils on Wednesday, and their colleagues in Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero Ekiti Local Government areas on Thursday, Fayemi stated that machinery has been set in motion to commence the clearance of the arrears owed the workers since the state government began the implementation of the new wage regime

Condemning the attacks in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Yinka Oyebode, Governor Fayemi described it as barbaric and inhuman, stressing that an end should be found to the spate of attacks by the outlawed groups and other insurgent groups in the country

The tour, which will take the governor to no fewer than 132 communities across the 16 local government areas of the state, is to allow him inspect ongoing projects, commission completed projects and get the inputs of the various communities into the 2014 Budget, through the Town Hall meetings, which will be the highpoint of the tour
