Director-General of NOA, Dr. Garba Abari, made the appeal in an Independence Day message to Nigerians, noting that the current period in the life of the country calls for all to remain committed to the project of building the country.

In a message of condolence to Nigerians and her family, the agency’s Director General, Dr. Garba Abari said Adeyoyin who passed on earlier in May 2021 was very unassuming despite bequeathing the nation with one of its much respected national symbols – the National Pledge. He said Adeyoyin, because of her drive for continuous distinction, was not complacent with authoring the National Pledge but went on to the peak of her chosen career to become a professor, admonishing Nigerian youths to emulate her tenacity.

In a special letter of appeal circulated to selected community and religious leaders across the country and signed by the Director General, Dr. Garba Abari, NOA said the situation called for leaders across political, religious, traditional, professional and the social landscape to do all within their powers to arrest the situation from further deterioration.

In a condolence message to the family of the late patriot, the NOA Director General, Dr. Garba Abari, described the late Dan Masanin Kano as a scholar, humanist, statesman, patriot and a nationalist who, in both private and public life, stood for the unity, progress and development of the nation.

Abari made the call in an Eid-el Fitri felicitation message to the Muslim faithful at the end of the month of Ramadan, stressing that the lessons of the holy month, if imbibed, will ensure peaceful coexistence and national development in Nigeria.
