Uduaghan, reacting to an earlier statement made by Utomi on the alleged mismanagement of Delta State by past governments, including his, said the economist should contest the post of a councillor rather that aiming for the governor’s seat based on his inability to deliver on promises in the past, especially on the proposed Silicon Valley in his home town

Uduaghan was chosen to play the role of Special Guest of Honour because of his place in the nation’s history as the Governor who made agriculture and non-oil resources alternatives to dependency on crude oil receipts a state policy through the “Delta Beyond Oil” initiative

Governor Uduaghan, who gave this assurance Monday when he commissioned sporting facilities built by the State Government at the St. Patrick’s College, Asaba, stated that though the schools have been handed over to the Missions, the students in the schools were Deltans and there was the need to ensure that they get quality education like all Deltans as they would be part of the state’s human capital
