At the resumed trial of Dasuki on charges of unlawful possession of firearms, the government witness, Samuel Ogbu, who was under cross examination, said no incriminating item was found in the Guest House by the security agents.

He said: “To accentuate the illegality of the arrest and detention of the applicant, the ACJA 2015, S.293 to 296 thereof, set out the procedure for the detention of any person pending trial or investigation. And in summary, that procedure requires judicial intervention by a magistrate for it to be carried out and the maximum detention time-frame is two weeks.

The Presiding Judge of the regional court, Justice Friday Chijioke Nwoke, gave the order in Abuja on Tuesdayat the resumed hearing in a legal action instituted by Dasuki challenging his alleged unlawful detention, unlawful seizure of properties and infringement on his fundamental rights to freedom of liberty
