This was disclosed at a training for lawyers on: “Whistleblower Protection in Nigeria,” organised by the African Centre for Media Literacy in collaboration with Cleen Foundation, with support from MacArthur Foundation on Friday in Abuja.
He made the appeal when a delegation of NGOs and CSOs under the Open Government Partnership initiative paid him a courtesy call recently in his office.
Situation Room Convener, Ene Obi, at a news conference on Wednesday in Abuja, also enjoined them to act in the interest of Nigerians at all times.
Speaking at a two-day Capacity Training for Women Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on Advocacy and Communication workshop organized by the development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) in Minna, an expert in Agriculture Extension and Forestry from the University of Ibadan, Professor Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, said it is a strategy for growth and inclusion.
This move, they said, is pertinent to make the outcome of the constitution amendment process people-driven, process-led and broad-based in terms of citizen engagement and participation.
The event, which was organised by the Centre For Memories (Ncheta Ndigbo) in collaboration with Society of Igbo Professionals, South Saharan Social Development Organization, DevEast, Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action, Peter Mbah Foundation, iServe2050, Nwanyibuife Cooperative and Imo Economic Summit Group, held at the weekend in Enugu.
