Abuja-based group, Society for Rule of Law in Nigeria, has cautioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission against allowing itself to be used to settle political scores with the outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose.

The group, which also called for the immediate extradition of Kasamu to the United States to face trial for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking, said it was strange that anyone in Nigeria, no matter highly placed, will be afraid to go to the United States free of charge as being done by the senator.
The group, which said it was worried that attempt was being made to use the judiciary to stall the installation of the state’s Governor-elect, Ayo Fayose, said: “Some people are trying to set a dangerous precedent and If care is not taken, we will soon get to a stage where some disgruntled people will get the court to stall the inauguration of President of Nigeria, thereby throwing the country into anarchy
The society urged the police to conduct further investigation into whether financial inducement was involved and the magnitude of the amount involved in the saga in view of the alleged well-known capacity of the ACN leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to financially compromise any institution or person in the country
