Nigeria Centre for Disease Control says it recorded 25 new cases of Lassa fever between February 11 and February 17 across the country.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday confirmed 37 new cases of Lassa fever recorded between February 4 and February 10.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Friday confirmed that 275 cases of Lassa fever were recorded since its outbreak in parts of the country.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control says Nigerians need not panic over the rising cases of Lassa fever because it has initiated measures in response to the disease in the country.
Following the confirmation at least 60 cases of Lassa fever, the Federal Government has raised the alarm and activated emergency response centres.
Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said that the Federal Government would intensify efforts to control Lassa Fever in the country.
He added that the Edo epidemiology team would be working with the NCDC and other relevant agencies to carry out detailed investigation and response to the already confirmed cases.
The Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, on Tuesday commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing of an Act establishing the agency.
This was announced in a statement by Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, Chief Executive Officer, NCDC, on Sunday in Abuja.
The launch which took place in Lagos was an initiative of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

Ihekweazu disclosed this at the opening ceremony of the National Executive Council meeting of the National Association of Resident Doctors in Abuja on Tuesday.
