Members of the Committee who visited the Office of the Special Adviser to the President and Coordinator, Amnesty Programme, Prof. Charles Dokubo, in Abuja, described funds so far released out of the 2018 budgetary allocation to the Amnesty Office as grossly inadequate.
The Senate Committee on Niger Delta has expressed dismay on the delay in release of funds for payment of stipends and other allowances to beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
Dokubo refuted this allegation while fielding questions at the News Agency of Nigeria Forum in Abuja.
Dokubo made the appeal at a meeting with the Phase One leaders of Niger Delta ex-agitators on Wednesday in Abuja with over 30 members of the group in attendance.
Buhari also approved the appointment of Prof. Charles Dokubo as the new helmsman.
