The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has assured members of the Administrative Board of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria on the Commission’s resolve to conduct free, fair and credible 2019 general elections.

The clerics made the plea in a communique issued at the end of the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria in Sokoto, held from September 6 to September 14.
A preparatory document released on Friday also says the meeting, known as a synod, taking place in October 2019, should consider conferring on women in the area some “type of official ministry”.
Bello made the apology at the maiden Kogi State Economic and Investment Summit, which was graced by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in Lokoja.
