Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman, Cement Company of Northern Nigeria and Founder/CEO of BUA Group, rang the closing gong on the floor of The Nigeria Stock Exchange to mark the end of trading on Wednesday and commemorate the successful completion of the CCNN/Kalambaina Cement Merger and listing of the shares of the expanded CCNN entity, which is now one of Nigeria’s 12 most capitalized companies on the exchange.

The market value of the Cement Company of Northern Nigeria, having gained 110 per cent at the close of trading on December 31, 2018, increased to N254,983,918,740.40 billion shortly after the merger with BUA Group’s Kalambaina Cement Company Limited was approved by the regulators and 13.1 billion shares of expanded were listed on the NSE.

Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who is also the Senate Minority Leader, will chair the event, while foremost industrialist and Chairman of BUA Group, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, will perform the traditional turning of the sod to herald the construction of a befitting plaza for Nigerian Editors in the Federal Capital Territory.

Dangote in a statement revealed that its reaction became very necessary as a result of its status as a publicly quoted company and to further re-assure its shareholders, the regulators and members of the public that the company is and remains a responsible corporate citizen.
