The list of Board members and chairmen was released on Friday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

A statement made available to the press by the Corps Public Education Officer of the FRSC, Bisi Kazeem, stated that the SGF had equally approved the promotion of 298 Officers of the Corps.

More appointments are on the way, said Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who announced the latest massive batch of appointees

Mustapha disclosed this on Saturday at the handing over ceremony of the mantle of leadership as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority at the authority’s headquarters in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The burial, which was concluded at around 3pm, was attended by the Secretary to the Government of Federation, Boss Mustapha, and Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, among others.

The Federal Government made this known in a circular dispatched to Ministries, Departments and Agencies through office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, in Abuja on Thursday.

Mustapha said in spite of the challenges being experienced in pension administration in the country, the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari was committed to improving pensioners’ welfare.

Inaugurating the committee in Abuja, Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, urged the committee to ensure that the late Ekwueme gets a befitting state burial.

Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Vice President, made this known when he briefed State House correspondents on the outcome of the meeting of the National Economic Council

The visit of Buhari to Anambra State would witness among others the presentation of the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Dr. Tony Nwoye, to the electorate in the state

The SGF, who described the governor as his close associate, stated that Nasarawa State is enjoying relative peace with Almakura as governor despite its multi-religious and multi-ethnic nature.

Upon approval by President Buhari, Dr. Ekwueme was rushed to the hospital in an air ambulance in what was described as a critical condition

In the letter, titled: “Re: Clarification on the Tenure of the Governing Board of the NDDC,” the SGF said the Senator Victor Ndoma Egba-headed board was not a continuation of the dissolved one headed by Senator Eyo Bassey Henshaw.

In his words: “The role of the National Assembly is quite distinct. You (National Assembly) legislate for the good governance of the Federation; you provide oversight and you also ensure that funds that are appropriated are used judiciously for the purposes they are meant and for the benefit of the people of Nigeria.

Mustapha made the promise while receiving handing over documents from the outgoing Acting SGF, Dr. Habiba Lawal, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Buhari also inaugurated the 2018 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem and Appeal Fund in Abuja

Mustapha stated this when he fielded questions from State House correspondents after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday in Abuja.
