The Corps revealed that there was a significant increase in the number of people rescued without injury during the 2018 Easter special patrol exercise. which was given a wider coverage than previous years, when compared to the same period of Easter celebration in 2017.
In the Federal Capital Territory, the exercise held at the SDP Motor Park in Gwagwalada, where the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, read the riot act to motorists.
Tagged 2018 Easter Special Patrol, the exercise, according to the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, is scheduled to run from March 28 to April 3 with focus on 39 corridors across the country.
The Corps Public Education Officer Bisi Kazeem stated this while addressing students and other guests during the maiden edition of the FRSC inter secondary school debate competition in Abuja on Thursday, where eight schools within the FCT drilled themselves on the basic knowledge of safety.
Kazeem stated this in an article titled: “30 Years of Unbroken Service to Humanity: FRSC and the Daunting Task of Lead Agency in Africa” to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Corps.
The Corps has now come of age after going through good times and tides. In its 30 years journey, it recorded for instance, a commendable 62.4 per cent reduction in crash from 40,881 in 1976 to 25,792 within its first operational year alone.
