In his ruling, Justice Samson Paul-Gang, who led the three-member panel Tuesday, dismissed the petition by the Labour Party (LP) for lacking merit.

Ogene, who is also the Labour Party Caucus Leader in the House, made this promise in a statement in Abuja on Sunday.

The party hinged its demand on the alleged exclusion of its name and logo from the ballot for the February 25 poll.

The award organised by Stop TB Partnership Nigeria in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO) USAID, National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme among others in Abuja was in  honour  and recognizion of those who have contributed to the fight against the deadly disease (Tuberculosis).

This came following a petition made by Oladimeji Ekengba and presented by Rep. Benjamin Kalu, which challenged the waiver granted by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria to Alta Semper Capital purportedly permitting the private equity firm to co-own and operate the retail pharmacy, HealthPlus in Nigeria.

A seat many had occupied for longer period with next to nothing to show for it in the lives of our people. I am glad for boldly defending the Senate’s decision on the famous TVC interview, where I publicly told Nigerians that fair hearing was yet to be given to Dr. Kalu and until he is heard at the Supreme Court, his right of appeal cannot be said to have been fully exhausted. Kalu said this while speaking with newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, that the President was rather invited for engagement with the house on ways to address security challenges in the country.

Kalu (APC-Abia), who made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Abuja, said Nigeria must strengthen its electoral institutions to reduce the influence of those in power.

In a statement on Thursday, Kalu described the approval of the 45km road construction as the biggest intervention in the state, saying that the road had been abandoned for 44 years.
