The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar lll had in October conferred the title of Shatima of Sokoto on Matawalle, following his efforts at bringing peace, through dialogue, to the North West region of the country.

The Special Adviser to Governor Bello Matawalle on Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Fa’ika Ahmad, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Gusau.
During the course of my trip I saw the wonderful things that Matawalle has done in the state over the last one year since he came to power and how he has restored peace in most parts of the state and brought hope, joy, strength, confidence and prosperity to the people.
Matawalle stated this when a high powered delegation of Security Chiefs, led by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, paid him a courtesy visit on Thursday in Gusau.
Buratai gave the commendation in an interview with newsmen when he was led on tour to the project site by the Governor on Tuesday.
According to the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Marshal, said the donation is a demonstration of the Governor’s love and passion for the safety of all road users, not only in the state, but the country at large and that it will definitely motivate the Corps personnel to put in their very best in saving lives on the road.
Matawalle made the call in Gusau while presenting 200 new operational vehicles to various security agencies in the state.
The governor said security agencies were working hard to tackle the menace of banditry and violent crimes in the state.
