President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday met with members of Zamfara State Council of Traditional Rulers and expressed disappointment over security reports linking people close to some of them with banditry in the state.
Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara says his administration is worried over increasing cases of kidnapping “that has become a lucrative business in the state”.
The Zamfara Government has called on the people of the state to embark
on three-day fasting and intensive prayers to seek God’s intervention against the activities of bandits, kidnappers and other crimes.
The Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. John Agim, says over 6000 Internally Displaced Persons have returned home in Zamfara.
According to a statement by the minister’s spokesman, Col. Tukur Gusau, Dan-Ali made the suggestion at the Security Council meeting in Presidential villa in Abuja.
