The governor, who spoke in an interview with newsmen after inspecting some of the facilities at the Ward alongside the Commissioners for Health, Dr. Jide Idris; Special Duties, Dr. Wale Ahmed; and the Special Adviser on Public Health, Dr. Yewande Adeshina, added that he was also there to see the environment in which the health workers handling the situation were working and the level of preparation that they have and their level of protection

Fielding questions from newsmen after the inspection, Governor Fashola said the current practice whereby residents pour their waste water into drains from where they find their way into lagoons and other wetlands only help to pollute the environment and underground water from which water are being extracted in boreholes

The equipments which include a ford ranger XLT pick-up van, laboratory and clinical equipments was presented to the State government by the Chief Executive Officer of APIN, Dr. Prosper Okonkwo as part of APIN efforts geared towards reducing the incidence of AIDS and increasing access to HIV treatment in the State
