The former Governor, who also called on Nigerians to restrict their movements to avoid falling victims of terrorists who have taken over the entire country, expressed concern that nowhere is safe in the country again.

The former governor made this known in a statement he personally signed in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday.
The congress was held in Osogbo, Osun State on Monday, with Fayose’s candidate for the chairmanship position, Eddy Olafeso, losing by 330 votes to the candidate of Governor Seyi Makinde, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, who polled 343 votes.
Speaking at the Wocdiff Centre, Osogbo, venue of the Zonal Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party, Fayose acknowledged, “The Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde, my brother, my friend and by the grace of God, our leader.”
This comes after months of supremacy tussle over the leadership of the PDP in the South West.
Or better still, you could think you were watching a dramatised version of Wole Soyinka’s The Trials of Brother Jero. Jero is a satiric comedy that parodies Nigerian religionists’ hypocrisy and cunning, which they garnish with seasonings of fraud and charlatanism.
Fayose, who also commended Yakasai for being courageous enough to speak truth to power, said “This singular action of his has made him the latest hero of our democracy, and in turn confirmed that there is hope for a united Nigeria.”
Fayose said this on Wednesday during a PUNCH Live interview.
Olayinka, in a petition by his counsel, Sunday Olowolafe, dated November 19, 2020, said the attack by armed thugs led by one Dele Omojola (Marshall), on a guest house in Ado Ekiti on October 24, 2020 was mainly targeted at him.
Fayose, who urged all politicians in Ekiti State to forget politics of bitterness for the interest and progress of the state, added that at 60, his desire was to be closer to God and be a preacher of His words.
Taiwo Ogundein, a Relationship Manager, First Bank of Nigeria Plc., testified at the hearing of the N6.9 billion fraud and money laundering case brought against Fayose by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Fayose said this in a statement on Thursday by his Media Aide, Lere Olayinka.
Fayose was making his way to the podium at the campaign ground when a hoodlum, ostensibly acting on instruction, moved towards him and removed his cap.
He consequently prayed for an adjournment.
PDP spokesman in the state, Taofik Gani, said in a statement that the denigration occurred when Fayose gave advice which was capable of inciting the youth against the PDP chieftains in Lagos.
The former governor, who said there was nothing to celebrate in a country bedevilled with insecurity, hunger, bare-faced corruption and bad governance, added that President Buhari’s resignation will serve as a life-restoring parting gift for Nigerians.
His Media Aide, Lere Olayinka, said in a statement on Wednesday that Fayose, who spoke during the inauguration of the PDP Campaign Committee for the Lagos East Senatorial District bye-election on Tuesday, emphasised that George should rather be a support stand for the younger ones in the party instead of dragging positions with them.
The party, in its condolence letter signed by its Chairman, Bisi Kolawole, prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
In contemporary time, there have been repeated scenarios of politicians from the two major political parties: Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress, engaging in anti-party activities against the collective interests of their respective parties and that situation that is currently in the scheme is that of the immediate former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, who has persistently stood against restoring normalcy to the avalanche of crises bedeviling the PDP in the South West states.
Fayose issued the warning on Wednesday during a meeting of the National Delegates of the PDP in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
