Intelligentsia group across universities in the South East and South South under the aegis of Academic Democrats at the weekend unanimously restated their resolve to work for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Peter Obi, in the 2019 general election.

Obi gave the charge in a statement by his Special Adviser, Valentine Obienyem, in which he aligned himself with the position of his boss and PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, that their campaign must be clean and based on issues.
Evangelist Theophilus Ohuoba, National Chairman, ITTA, who made the pledge during a courtesy call on Chief Amina Titi Abubakar at her Maitama residence in Abuja on Thursday, said the group was already mobilizing for the poll.

Obi, who represented the presidential candidate of the party and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, at the two separate meetings told the EU delegation that efforts should be made to stop the ruling party, All Primary Congress, from intimidating candidates of opposition political parties who, he said, now live in fear.
