A police officer serving with the Police Command in Nasarawa State has been shot dead by suspected armed robbers along Akwanga-Wamba road in the state.

Oyewole disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos, adding that the suspected eight-man robbery gang stormed his home at about 2 a.m and carted away his car, undisclosed amount of money and other valuables.
Musa said the gang was formed in Lagos State and had been operating in the four states of Oyo, Ogun, Osun and for one year.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammadu Abubakar, said this in a statement on Monday in Minna.
Banks in the town were only reopened last year after over one year of closure following incessant raids and killings by armed robbers.
An Eye witness told the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano that the incident happened 8 a.m when the staff were conveying the money to one of the commercial banks in the area.
The suspects are: Isah Saidu, Audu Mohammed, Adamu Yahaya, Yahaya Jibrin, Bashir Mohammed, Saidu Garba, Ibrahim Mohammed, Usman Abubakar, Mohammed Aliyu, Mukthar Isa and Abubakar Malam, among others.
An eyewitness told the News Agency of Nigeria that the incident occurred at about 2.30pm when the suspected robbers rode into the filling station to refuel their motorcycle.

The suspect, Ikemachukwu Obiora, 31, confessed that most robbery operations carried out by him and his gang members were through information gathered at places people make phone calls
