In the preface to the 2015 Manifesto of the All Progressives Congress, its former National Chairman, John Odigie-Onyegun, had invited Nigerians to hold the party accountable if it failed to fulfil its campaign promises. Odigie-Oyegun said: “I invite you to read our manifesto and share our message with all those who genuinely care about Nigeria. All Nigerians must join hands to actualize what is contained in this manifesto and hold us to account if we fail to achieve them. For us, this manifesto is our social contract with Nigeria.”

With less than four weeks to the commencement of the general elections, the African Democratic Congress has urged voters to reject the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress on account of gross incompetence, failure to provide basic security for citizens, and desperate actions geared towards killing what is remaining of Nigeria’s fledgling democracy.

A Federal High Court in Maiduguri, on Thursday fixed January 30 for ruling on a motion praying for the amendment of originating summon in a case filed by Alhaji Idris Mamman, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, seeking nullification of the governorship primary election in the state.
