Globacom, in a statement in Lagos, stated: “The festival is growing bigger and bigger every year since we officially took over its sponsorship in 2011.  We commend the Agbogidi for all the innovations he has over the years introduced to the festival to make it more exciting and a tourist attraction. We are delighted to be part of this noble festival for another three years.”

Somebody alleged that Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano’s wife, Chief Ebelechukwu Obiano, said a former Governor of the state, Peter Obi, would not prosper politically for abandoning the All Progressives Grand Alliance, where he was like a colossus. Somebody insinuated that Obiano’s wife spoke out of context during the campaign that is even going viral and they mentioned 247ureports as alleging that the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the November 18, 2017 governorship election, Obaze Oseloka, directed Obi’s spokesman, Val Obienyem, and Stanley Chira, aka Oderaigbo, to make the video where Mrs. Obiano misspoke.

Monday, October 2, 2017 being the day of Governor Obiano’s commencement of his campaign for a second four-year term in office underscores a landmark in Anambra State’s politics. The kick-off at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka is remarkable in many ways that go far beyond politics. This is because it re-establishes the immense merit in clear focus in pro-people governance and re-corroborates the wisdom in the governor’s statement that he “came prepared” for the job.
